Editing services customized for your business priorities
Your content has been created by your subject matter experts to support your business objectives. Now you need to make sure it’s clear and correct, meets the needs of your audience, complies with company policies and standards, minimizes risk to your organization, and sounds like you. Version4 can help.

Editorial reviews that cover more than grammar and typos
Everyone works hard to produce error-free materials. But most content must also support specific business objectives and meet a variety of publication formats and channel requirements, which cannot be accomplished by correcting grammar and spelling alone.

Our professional editors go beyond copyediting and proofreading by understanding and addressing your organization’s unique concerns for brand and style adherence, corporate messaging, legal implications, industry disruptors (such as generative AI), process security, version control, and more. We offer specialization in more visually oriented content formats, such as presentation decks or signage, and we can help you adapt a single piece of content for multiple formats.
When you need a content solution that consolidates your array of priorities into one efficient editorial process, ask about Version4’s editing services.
Quality standards that prioritize professionalism and effectiveness
There’s no such thing as perfect, and attempting to produce content perfection is neither realistic nor necessary to achieving your business objectives. What is important is that your customers perceive you as knowledgeable and trustworthy, which means that your content should be clear, correct, and professional.

The Version4 editorial approach upholds high quality standards while also acknowledging that you have other business realities, such as time and resource constraints that can’t accommodate endless review cycles. We prioritize effective and professional business content, producing the best possible final version without becoming distracted by the illusion of perfection.

Clear results from empathetic experts
The editing process is highly context-dependent and requires an approach tailored to the unique circumstances of every deliverable. As a result, editing can sometimes be difficult to quantify, and it can be hard for your team to understand the impact or justify the value of the service to your stakeholders.

When we work with your content creators and subject matter experts, we lead with advocacy for your team and help you find clear, tangible solutions—we don't just point out mistakes. Our data-driven team values showing you the difference we make on your content, not just telling you we did something worthwhile.
What do editors do?
There are many kinds of editing that focus on different types of issues. However, considered holistically, editors fix errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation; revise language to remove ambiguity and improve readability; and address content that may not suit the needs of your audience.
They work with content creators to understand context and apply appropriate adjustments to help communicate your intended messages more clearly. They fact-check your content to make sure that quotes and statistics are properly cited, terminology is used and capitalized correctly, messaging is internally consistent, and more. Many also fix formatting errors and check images for inconsistencies and inaccuracies, and some can help make AI-generated content (if used) sound more authentic and less homogenous.
What types of editing does Version4 offer?
Our team has experience in proofreading, copyediting, line editing, substantive editing, developmental editing, and technical editing. There is some natural overlap between these disciplines, but because each one requires an editor to wear a different “hat” and take a different approach, we make sure that any project requiring multiple types of editing is reviewed by more than one editor.

Note that we do not offer video or photo editing, nor do we offer copywriting services, as these are separate professions.
How does Version4 incorporate my organization’s unique requirements into its editorial processes?
During the kickoff and onboarding phase of every project, our team will ask you for brand kits, style materials, previous content examples, stakeholder priorities or guidance, and anything else pertinent to your content project. We study these materials in detail and then develop a comprehensive yet efficient strategy that every editor working on your project is briefed on before getting started.
Can Version4 help me with design as well as editing?
The Version4 team has extensive experience designing presentation slides and all manner of print and digital content. Whether you’d like us to start from scratch with a custom-built concept or optimize an existing deliverable for readability and brand expression, we can help you produce effective content that is well designed and free of errors. Or, we can build functional presentation and document templates so your content creators can develop cohesive, on-brand content on their own.
As a quality measure, any design work done by one team member is reviewed and edited by another team member.
